Drag Brunch helps people find drag shows and follow performers. We collect as little as we can to do that, we don't sell personal data, and we don't run ads.
What we collect
- Your account: email address, display name, and, if you set one, a password (stored only as a salted hash).
- What you do here: performers you follow, shows you save, your preferred city and favorite kinds of shows, and notification settings.
- What you post: photos, videos, captions, comments and event details you add, plus the evidence you submit when claiming a performer or venue page (links, a booking email, a note).
- Usage analytics: pages viewed and actions such as saving a show or clicking a ticket link, tied to a random identifier stored in your browser (and to your account if you're signed in). We don't store your IP address with analytics, we don't use precise location, and we honor Do Not Track. Raw analytics events are deleted after 13 months.
- Abuse prevention: to rate-limit sign-in attempts and spam we briefly keep a network identifier (such as your IP address). It is deleted within two days.
- Location: when you tap “Near me”, your browser's location is used for that one search and isn't saved.
Performer and venue pages
Some pages are created from public event listings (for example a venue's own calendar) before the performer or venue joins. They show only public facts about upcoming shows, with the source named on each listing. Performers and venues can claim their page to correct it, or ask us to hide it by writing to hello@dragbrunch.example.
Instagram connection
If you choose to connect Instagram, we use Meta's official login to read your public profile (username, name, bio, photo) and your posts. We never post for you. We store the access token encrypted, use imported photos only after you approve them, and nothing is public until you do. Disconnect any time from Dashboard → Instagram, which deletes the token and any photos you hadn't approved. Removing the app in Instagram, or sending a data-deletion request, also deletes the connection.
Why we use it
- To run the service: show your saved shows and followed performers, and send the alerts and digests you've turned on.
- To keep it trustworthy: verify claims, prevent impersonation and spam, and fix bad listings.
- To improve it, using aggregated analytics.
Who we share it with
We use a few service providers, only for the purposes above:
- Hosting and database providers, to run the site.
- An email delivery provider, to send sign-in links, alerts and digests.
- A file storage provider, for photos and flyers you upload.
- An AI provider, only when you upload a flyer and ask us to read the dates from it. The image is sent for that extraction only.
- Stripe, only if you send a tip or join a membership (when those are available). We never see or store your card details.
Your public profile, posts and the shows you add are visible to everyone. What you follow and save stays private.
Emails
We send sign-in links you ask for, and the alerts or weekly digest you choose. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can change everything in notification settings. We don't send marketing email.
Your controls
- Download a copy of your data from Settings → Your data.
- Delete your account from Settings. You're signed out immediately and your data is permanently deleted after 14 days.
- Your private calendar subscription link only shows shows you saved or performers you follow. Don't share it.
Children
Drag Brunch isn't directed at children under 13, and many listed events are 21+.
